Data Analytics for Internal Audit

Data Analytics for Internal Audit

Introduction:

The “Data Analytics for Internal Audit” training course is designed to equip internal auditors with the knowledge and skills necessary to leverage data analytics in their audit processes. The course will cover fundamental concepts of data analysis, data visualization techniques, audit data analytics (ADA), and their applications in risk assessment and audit testing. Through practical activities, case studies, and group discussions, participants will gain hands-on experience in applying data analytics to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of internal audits.

Course Objectives:

  • Understand the Basics of Data Analysis: Gain a comprehensive understanding of big data, its types, and the 4 Vs of big data.
  • Master Data Visualization Techniques: Learn to visualize different types of data effectively using various charts and plots.
  • Apply Audit Data Analytics (ADA): Understand the purpose and steps involved in ADA and how it can be integrated into the audit process.
  • Conduct Risk Assessment using ADA: Learn techniques for using ADA in risk assessment, including clustering, matching, statistical analysis, and visualization.
  • Perform Audit Testing with ADA: Understand the concepts of test of control and substantive testing and how ADA can be used in these processes.
